Ready to Make the Jump on Google Analytics 4?
We hope so, because your current GA property is going away on July 1st, 2023
Universal Analytics vs GA4: An Overall Improvement with a Learning Curve
GA4 has a different interface, different way of tracking and is much more custom in nature. It’s a brand new product with a LOT to learn.
Characteristics | GA3 | GA4 |
Measurement | Session-based | Event-based |
Reporting | Limited cross-device | Full cross-device, cross-platform |
Automation | Limited | Machine Learning throughout |
Of course, the differences don’t stop here. But the new version of Google Analytics allows for greater granularity in tracking, as long as all custom parameters are passed through correctly. That’s where we come in.

FAQ
When do I need to migrate to GA4?
The sooner the better. Your current Google Analytics version will stop processing new data on July 1, 2023. But the faster you migrate over to the new version, the more data you’ll have to compare to (3 and 6 month look-back periods, for example).
Can I have both Universal Analytics and GA4 running at the same time?
Yes, that’s what Google recommends so that your existing settings remain intact. We also use your UA tags and settings to migrate over to GA4 to keep it as consistent as possible.
How complicated is it to migrate over to GA4?
It depends on your existing setup, along with the type of data needed for GA4. If your UA property and GTM container is already set up how you want it, then the process of migrating is fairly seamless.
How much does it cost to migrate?
It’s impossible to provide a quote without evaluating your current GA and GTM properties. We provide a price range based on the following factors:
- Current UA and GTM setup (are all tags, goals and events working properly?)
- Website needs and functionality (ecommerce versus editorial site, e.g.)
- Reporting needs
