Minimalist Marketing was founded in 2013 by Matt Smith, born from a personal obsession with ranking websites and seeing the impact of strong SEO firsthand. Early on, Matt realized the power of digital marketing and how it was transforming the way people view brands.

One of Matt’s earliest successes, a website called waterwelders.com, focused on underwater welding – and proved how the right content and strategy could drive real results.

That hands-on experience led to a career in the agency world, where Matt spent years working with businesses of all sizes—from local shops to faith-based organizations—helping them grow through intentional planning and strategy.

At Minimalist Marketing, we believe in doing work that matters. SEO isn’t just about traffic or rankings—it’s about creating impact. We serve our clients with focus, simplicity, and long-term value in mind.

Matt lives in Kansas City with his wife, Beth, who runs her own value-driven business as a flat-fee realtor. Together, they’ve served as missionaries overseas and now raise their two daughters with a strong commitment to faith and family.
